Skoda is secretly planning to double its range of cars in three years. Today the Czech manufacturer has a four-strong range: Fabia supermini, Octavia family car, Superb saloon and roomy Roomster. We should probably call today ‘McLaren Day’, not Valentine’s Day. For today is the day we get every last morsel of detail on McLaren’s first new car in almost twenty years – the McLaren MP4-12C. Keen readers – and those not in Europe – will have seen we posted all the MP4-12C performance data at midnight last night – it was all embargoed until today.
Stephane Schwarz has joined Milanese design house Zagato as its design director. Born in Switzerland, raised in France and educated in Italy, Schwarz is perhaps best known for his time as Nissan Design Europe design director. He first worked with the illustrious, family-run company in September last year before recently taking up his new, full-time role.
